ARMY ORGANISES COMPUTER EDUCATION FOR GIRLS


SRINAGAR: “Computer Education for girls is an eminent and powerful tool that can bring about a change which covers many dimensions. It can  facilitate and empower women,  remove hurdles to their growth, enhance their contribution in  technological fields ,make them more adapt in  handling technology, give them exposure to technological scenarios at national and international level. The girls can look for research and educational opportunities including prospects abroad, career advancement facilities, job/ employment prospects outside state, in fields of art and entertainment etc”.

This was the message of GOC Victor Force while speaking on the occasion of distribution of computer certificates to girls who have successfully completed their courses being run under the aegis of army in South Kashmir. He further congratulated them and said such educational initiatives empowered them and put them on the path of progress. The occasion was graced by Cdr 1 Sect RR, DC Anantnag amongst other civil dignitaries.

The Army has launched many initiatives towards educating the girls in cmptr education in various districts and blocks of South Kashmir viz Anantnag, Pulwama, Kupwara. Army in collaboration with civil private/government computer educations centers has sponsored computer education classes for more than 500 girls’ students. Army believes that by computer education and the use of information and communication technologies, women can broaden the scope of their actions and address issues which were previously beyond their capacity.

While speaking to couple of such girls who underwent such computer education course they expressed their interest in acquiring technology mainly computer knowledge as this gave them better job prospects and for most of them this was their first exposure to computers. This achievement of the girls gives a sense of elation & encouragement to them and furthers bridges the bond between the awam and the government.

Army Organizes ‘Bakkarwal Jirga’ (Meet) At Barakh

REASI: Bakkarwal Jirga’  was organized by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Barakh on 06 Mar 2012 under Op Sadbhavana to approach local populace from remote areas of Reasi district.  The Jirga was inaugurated by GOC,Uniform Force. 
 
On the occasion a cultural program was held, several motivational stalls were established and refreshments provided with an aim to provide a platform for interaction aimed at bringing cohesiveness amongst the Gujjar and   Bakkarwals.  More than of 1250 Bakkkarwals  & Gujjars  from all over Reasi District attended the program.  

Mohd Ibrahim, Sarpanch of Barakh speaking for all the people of Barak expressed gratitude for Army authorities for organizing the event and giving the communities an opportunity to interact.  The Jirga drew an unprecedented and overwhelming response from the local populace.

The successful completion of this event will result in fostering closer relationship between the locals and the Army.  This event will help the Army to generate better trust and goodwill amongst the people of the region and furthering the path of peace and prosperity.

ARMY CONDUCTS EDUCATIONAL AND MOTIVATIONAL TOUR FOR CHILDREN TO SRINAGAR

SRINAGAR: An Educational and Motivational Tour to Srinagar comprising of 18 students and two teachers from remote areas of Kupwara was flagged off from Kalaruch in Kupwara district on 06 March 2012.  The children visited Srinagar on 06 Mar and 07 March 2012.
 
The tour was so planned to give an opportunity to gain a first hand insight into the grandeur and beauty of one of the world famous tourist destination. Children visited ‘IBADAT-E-SAHADAT’ Museum alongwith Chashmeshahi, Pari Mahal, Hazrat Bal Dargah and also enjoyed the Shikara Ride at Dal Lake at Srinagar.
 
The students enjoyed the tour and gained a lot from this new experience.   “This tour has not been only of educational value to us but also gave us an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Srinagar,” said one of the students from village Sarkuli. The tour was also well appreciated by the parents of the children and the locals of the area. Such initiatives by Army will go a long way in building the bonding between the Army and Awam.
 
 

NATIONAL INTEGRATION TOUR FLAGGED OFF TO PUNE

HANDWARA: A National integration tour ‘Watan Ki Sair’ from Rajwar to Pune was flagged off by Brigadier KJS Dhillon, YSM Commander 7 Sector from Pohrupet, Handwara. The tour encompasses 20 students and 03 teachers from Vilgam, Qaziabad, Mawar, Zachaldor and Handwara on 03 Mar 12. 
 
The tour will be witnessing the life outside the valley for two weeks. The tour itinerary includes sightseeing at Srinagar, Patni Top and various tourist places at Jammu. At Jammu they will also be visiting a Mechanised Infantry Battalion. The tour is being hosted by 21 RR (GUARDS).
 
In Pune, they will be visiting various prestigious institutions like National Defence Academy, Khadagwasla, Army Institute of Physical Training, Army Sports Institute and Bombay Engineering Group Centre etc. At NDA they will be having an interactive session with the Cadets of J&K. They will also be witnessing rich Rajasthani culture at Chokhi Dhani. The tour will also see historical Singarh Fort and visit around the city.
 
The tour is definitely going to motivate the youths for channelizing their energy in constructive manner after seeing the life in other parts of the country, said one of the parent. One of the mothers who came to see off her son thanked Army for its goodwill gesture and prayed for long life of everyone. 
 
All students were thrilled and excited. One of students said that it was like his dream coming true going outside the valley and especially visiting prestigious institution like NDA. Before flagging off, Col CK Rajesh, SM**, CO 21 RR (GUARDS) presented a set of personal kit to the students and teachers.
