VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT AT MAGAM CONDUCTED BY 47TH BATTALION THE RASHTRIYA RIFLES (BIHAR)

MAGAM: As part of The Indian Army’s continuing endeavour to reach out to the populace, 47 Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter 8 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, conducted a Volleyball tournament at Magam with effect from 03 Mar 2012 to 09 Mar 2012. 

A total of six teams participated in the tournament. The teams were as Magam A, Magam B, Magam C, Shogpora, Nilipora and  Magam High School.

The final match was played on 09 Mar 2012 at Boys Higher Secondary  School, Magam, between Magam C and Shogpora and Magam C won the tournament. Commanding Officer 47 Rashtriya Rifles Bn (BIHAR) witnessed the final match andprize were distributed at the end.

The tournament aimed at developing a competitive spirit among the Kashmiri youth and has brought together youth of Magam.  Colonel Jacob Freeman, Commanding Officer, 47^th Battalion, The Rashtriya Rifles (BIHAR) while interacting with the general public said, “Such events will continue and the Army will maintain the friendly approach with a commitment to ensure a peaceful environment.”
