BLOOD DONATION CAMP : 47 AIR DEFENCE REGIMENT

  UDHAMPUR: As a part of its Golden Jubilee Celebrations, 47 Air Defence Regiment  conducted a blood donation camp on the 17th & 18th March 2012 at the Unit premises in coordination with Government District Hospital, Udhampur.

Raised on 1st April, 1962 at Namkum, Ranchi, the Unit has been serving
  the nation in times of peace and war in the highest traditions of the Indian Army. The Unit has proved its mettle in every major battle the country has fought since its raising. The unit has also contributed tremendously in maintaining internal security of the country and provided relief during various natural calamities and other disturbances in internal peace.

Reiterating its commitment to the nation, the blood donation camp was
  conducted to donate life saving blood for the fellow countrymen in keeping with the ethos of the Army. About 250 units of blood were collected from all ranks of the regiment and donated to District Hospital, Udhampur. 
 
The Commanding Officer Colonel Aman Puri inaugurated the camp by donating a unit of blood himself. Dr Chandra Prakash, Superintendent District Hospital, Udhampur and his team members thanked the Unit for the magnanimous donations of the much needed life saving blood.
