ARMY SAVES LIVES ON NATIONAL HIGHWAY AT NASHARI

NASHARI:  The Army once again exhibited its humane side by providing timely assistance to a road accident that occurred on 24 Mar 2012 in the wee hours of morning at 0400h. A civil bus Regd No JK-08A 4933 moving from Jammu to Srinagar went 50 ft down when the driver lost cont and fell down into the gorge and hung with a tree    
 
A total of 42 passengers were travelling in the bus, out of which four died on the spot and eight were severely injured. The rescue operation was started by adjacent CRPF column.  Rashtriya Rifles troops led by Lt Col Chauhan came into action immediately through with requisite items of aid. The injured persons were immediately rescued and were evacuated to the Chanderkot helipad for administering first aid.  
 
The injured were evacuated by the Air Force Helicopter at 0940 hr to Govt Medical College Jammu. The joint effort of the Security Forces and timely effort by the army has once again highlighted the humane face of the men in uniform.
