The tour has been sponsored by the
Army under Sadhbhavana by 7 Rashtriya Rifles (PUNJAB). The children
will visit Amritsar, Patiala, Kapurthala and various other places of
interest in Punjab. Apart from sight seeing these school children will
be playing friendly cricket matches against students of various
prominent schools in
Punjab.
They will also be meeting some high ranking officials of the
Indian Army and various civilian dignitaries during the visit. The aim
of this tour is to enable students of the valley to be able to interact
with the students and people of other parts of the country with a view
to expose them to the rich socio-cultural heritage of our country. This
would also help in widening their horizon and ushering them into the
national mainstream.
