SARIFA BEGUM GETS NEW LIFE IN ARMY’S MEDICAL CAMP

NOWSHERA: Jhangar Battalion under the aegis of Tithwal Brigade organised a Medical Camp at Rajpur Kamila in Nowshera tehsil. The medical camp was a part of Operation Sadbhavana activities being conducted by Tithwal Brigade for the  populace of border villages.

A large number of facilities including medical, dental and ENT were provided. Free vaccination for typhoid and tetanus were also administered and lady doctors carried out health check up of women.

The camp witnessed a swelling crowd from Quila Darhal, Rajpur Kamila, Bhatta, Andrut, Rani & Badhotar villages. 562 persons from these villages benefited from the Camp.  The efforts of the Army towards ensuring well being of the locals was appreciated by one and all.

Sarifa Begam of village Badhtor, aged 45 years had been complaining of decreased vision for last three years. During the camp she was diagnosed as a case of mature cataract and subsequently referred to the eye specialist for cataract surgery. She expressed her gratitude towards army by saying that “the treatment has given a new life to me and I am deeply touched by this noble gesture.”

Speaking on the occasion, Commanding Officer, Jhangar Battalion exhorted the locals to work towards peace and harmony in the State.
