NAUSHERA: A motivational and educational tour for under privileged children from
remote areas of Naushera tehsil of District Rajouri was flagged off from Narian
on 15 Jan 2012.
The tour is being
organised by 33 Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of Tithwal Brigade with the
aim of making students from remote and border areas aware of the development
and vibrance in rest of the country. The tour would be conducted over 15 days
and the students will be visiting Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mysore.
One of the student participating in
the tour, Master Mohd Riaz said “We are really excited at this exceptional
opportunity to visit other parts of our country. What makes it more exhilarating
is that we have got an opportunity at this age to travel along with our friends
to some of the highly urbanized cities about which we had only heard of or read
in movies or magazines”.
Speaking at the flagging off ceremony,
Brig Rajeev Sirohi, Cdr of Tithwal Bde said “the excursion will leave a lasting
impact on these young minds as they will experience the difference between the
life in a violent and disturbed environment and in the peaceful and prosperous
parts of the rest of the country.
