STUDENTS OF DRONA BOYS HOSTEL, UDHAMPUR SET OUT TO VISIT UTTAR PRADESH

UDHAMPUR: In the series of OP Sadbhavana venture conducted by the Army, an educational cum-motivational tour has been organized for Drona Boys Hostel from Udhampur to Uttar Pradesh under the aegis of HQ Northern Comd.  The tour was flagged off on 24 Dec 2011 by Maj Gen A K Sehgal, GOC 71 Sub Area.

During this tour, the students will be visiting Lucknow, Allahabad & Varanasi.  They will have an opportunity to get exposed to the rich heritage and varied culture of Uttar Pradesh.  It also affords them a chance to broaden their horizons and become aware of the development and growth of the state and also the opportunities and awareness.  The tour will enable the students to interact with the locals and gain an insight into the religious harmony and brotherhood which has played a major role in development and shaping of the nation.

The students during the duration of the tour will visit the Chhota Imambara,  Jama Masjid, Rumi Darwaza, Asafi Imambara, Shahnajaf Imambara at Lucknow, Sangam, Allahabad Fort, Patalpuri Temple, Akshaya Vat, Swaraj Bhawan at Allahabad  and Banaras Hindu University, Sarnath, Manikarnika Ghat, Dasawmedh Ghat at Varanasi.
