MOTIVATIONAL TOUR FOR DISABLED PERSONS DELHI, AGRA AND JAIPUR RETURNS

POONCH: Carrying forward the spirit of ‘Op Sadbhavana’ to undertake projects by the Indian Army reach out to the common people of the far-flung areas, 17 JAK LI (Striking Seventeen) under the aegis of Poonch Brigade of Ace of Spade Division organised  Motivational tour for disabled persons of Poonch to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. 

The tour was ‘Flagged off’ by Brigadier MK Mago, Sena Medal, and Commander Poonch Brigade on 15 Dec 2011. The tour comprising of forty disabled persons, attendants and conducting staff of Poonch was conducted for 12 days. 

This motivational tour was a composite package in which the disabled persons got an opportunity to visit places of interest in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.  They received a wide exposure to visit prominent places of interest like India Gate, Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Akshardham Temple, Raj Ghat, Shanti Van and Lotus Temple at Delhi. 
 
The touring party also visited historical places like Taj Mahal and other important places of Agra & Jaipur cities and interactional with prominent personalities. Besides this, 25 of these disabled citizens could benefit from the world famous ‘Jaipur Foot’ as they were provided with artificial limbs and other enabling devices. The tour was  flagged in on 26 Dec 2011 at Raina Auditorium, Rajouri by GOC Ace of Spade Division Maj Gen K H Singh, YSM. 
 
Shajia Begum 40 yrs and Mohd Zaved 23 yrs while talking to the GOC expressed delight and said that they could not still believe they had been though such a good life time experience. The endeavour was an enlightening experience for the disabled persons that will go a long way in building national spirit and also open their minds to new horizons. 

It also brought about a great deal of awareness amongst the disabled persons from the border villages about the cultural and regional diversity amongst the unique harmony that binds this great nation.
