RAMBAN: An educational tour named `SAFAR-E-GULISTAN’
had been organised by Headquarters Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) for the
children hailing from insurgency affected areas of Ramban district. The tour was organised by the Rashtriya
Rifles Battalion as part of `Operation Sadhbhavana’ and conducted under the
aegis of Headquarters Counter Insurgency Force (Delta). 23 students and 02 teachers are part of the
tour, which will be going to Mumbai, Pune and Nasik.
The tour was flagged in by Commander, 11
Sector Rashtriya Rifles at Chanderkot.
During the flagging-in ceremony the Sector Commander handed over the photo
albums to the students and teachers as a memoralia. The Sector Commander highlighted the
importance of such visits, for the self-development of students, by enriching
their knowledge as also by witnessing the advancement of the country in
different spheres.
Sector Commander while speaking to the students asked about
their experiences, the students in turn narrated their experiences during the
tour at the flagging-in-ceremony while interacting with the Sector
Commander. During the tour, the students
had visited Gateway of India, Nehru Science City, Siddivinayaka Temple, Hazi Ali
Dargah & Juhu Beach at Mumbai and NDA, Army Sports Institute, Combat Army
Aviation Training School, Artillery centre at Pune & Nasik.
The students
also met Miss Saima Tabassum, a girl student of village Ghat, District Doda (J
& K) sponsored by Headquarter Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) and studying
in Abeda Inamdar Junior College at Pune in Class XIth. The students gained
inspiration after meeting with her. The students also expressed their gratitude
to the Army for conducting such a memorable & educative tour.
