46 RR organize ‘trekking expedition' for students in Baramulla

BARAMULLA: After organizing various educational tours 46 Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of the Dagger Division, organized a ‘Trekking Expedition’ to attract young school children towards trekking and train them basic techniques of trekking, camping and outdoor survival in Baramulla.

Organizer of ‘Trekking Expedition’ Officiating Commanding Officer 46 RR, Major Sandeep Azad said that the trekking expedition was sponsored by INTACH- J & K Chapter in which 13 Students and   2 teachers participated.

“The students were trained in basic techniques of trekking, camping and outdoor survival methods.  The practical aspects of the training were imparted to the group of students during the course of trekking to Hajibal top, Gohan and Point 1912,” added Sandeep Azad.

The students also visited Gulmarg, Butapathri, NHPC, Kaman post which was a thrilling experience. Later , a Basketball match was played by the students, prizes for which were given away by Commander, 19 Artillery Brigade Brigadr Ravi which was  followed by the valedictory address, presentation of mementoes to students and teachers.
 
MEANWHILE: Under the aegis of Dagger Artillery Brigade, 46 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Baramulla organised a Medical cum Veterinary Camp for women, men and children of Sangri Bala (Baramulla) and its neighbouring villages, on 18 December 11 to establish goodwill of the Indian Army and to foster bonhomie with the local populace. The camp facilities were made available to the populace from 1000hrs to 1530hrs. 
 
The camp was a huge success as its facilities were utilised by large sections of the society and a total of 278 persons and  312 animals were treated. Brig Ravi Cdr 19 Arty Bde was present to oversee the proceedings. 

As part of goodwill and a long standing request of the populace of Sangri Bala a medical cum veterinary camp was organised in Sangri Bala, Baramulla with an aim to reach out to the deprived local populace and provide them with basic medical cover.  

The Medical team comprising of 02 doctors, 01 dental doctor and 01veterinary doctor provided consultation and medical care to the locals. Brig Ravi, Cdr 19 Arty Bde and   Maj Sandeep Azad, SC Officiating CO 46 RR were present during the camp. The locals thanked the Army for the Medical cum Veterinary Camp and hoped that more such camps would be held in the future.
