Students return from ‘education cum motivation’ organized Army’s 17 JAT

BARAMULLA: Continuing its efforts to provide educational exposure and learning opportunity to the children 24 students and two teachers of Mawar Valley, Naugam in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district returned from 15 days ‘education cum motivation’ organized by Army’s 17 JAT “Mashkoh Warriors”, under the aegis of TMG Brigade Dagger Division.


The incredible tour endowed the students with an opportunity to visit many important places in the country, having immense historical and cultural significance, such as Red fort, Raj Ghat, India Gate, Jama Masjid, Bara Imambara, and also visited some historical places including the Taj Mahal at Agra among other informative and entertaining events planned.

Mohmemd Maqbool, 10 class students said “This was my dream to see the historical and religious places of India which has come true with help of army. As we all come from poor families our parents can hardly effort such an expensive tour for us."  

The education cum motivational tour was flagged off in a grand style from Naugam Garrison on 11 November 2011.  The youth of Mawar Valley commenced their long voyage in the early hours of 12 November 2011, by a deluxe bus and transited through various historical cities of India to include Jammu, New Delhi, Agra, Allahabad, Lucknow and Ambala, over a fortnight. The tour culminated on 26 November 2011 at Baramula Garrison, where a well thought-out flagging in ceremony was arranged.
All the students who undertook the glorious tour were present at the grand occasion, alongwith their parents and teachers of various schools of Mawar region. The General Officer Commanding Dagger Division Major General Bipin Rwat who was flanked by commander TMG Brigade Brigadier J S Makol after flagging in the touring students addressed the august gathering and flagged in the exhilarating tour. 

The participants were smartly dressed in appropriately fitting yellow T-shirts and deep blue track suits and appeared quite exuberant after having undertaken this exciting tour. The chief guest interacted with participating children their faces beaming with happiness as they excitedly recounted their experiences.

Another student Faizan said," The tour provided us a chance to learn the cultural ethos of our country and see people living in the different cultures, regions and societies."               

The students shared their experiences and nostalgic memories of the tour as it was their first stride outside the valley. General Officer Commanding Dagger Division Major General Bipin Rwat said that aim of organizing such tours is to provide exposure to the students and such efforts of army has proved to be a milestone towards widening the horizons of children to look forward and improve their future prospects.  
“ The tour aims to expose these young impressionable minds to the world outside the valley, providing opportunities for interaction with people, to increase awareness and thereby enabling them to identify themselves more closely with their fellow countrymen. The children experienced that India is the country of integrity and communal harmony where every religion flourish equally,’ added Rawat
